Overview
The Membership Chair (sometimes called Recruiting Chair) handles new scout sign-ups, makes sure new families feel welcomed rather than lost, and runs recruiting events with local Cub Scout packs, schools, and community groups. Work is seasonal — busy around recruiting drives and crossover, quiet the rest of the year.
Responsibilities
- 1Process new scout and adult registrations
- 2Welcome new families and connect them with a point of contact in their first weeks
- 3Plan and run recruiting events, including Cub Scout crossover visits
- 4Coordinate with local Cub Scout packs and school outreach opportunities
- 5Track troop membership numbers and retention over the program year
