Overview

The Instructor leads skill sessions at troop meetings — first aid, knots, navigation, camping skills, and more. This is a teaching role, and it develops communication and patience as much as Scouting knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • 1Plan and lead skill instruction sessions at troop meetings
  • 2Teach rank advancement skills to newer scouts
  • 3Coordinate with the SPL on what skills to cover
  • 4Help run skill stations at campouts
  • 5Assist Patrol Leaders with skill sign-offs when authorized

Time Commitment

2–3 hours/week including prep time
