Teaches Scouting skills to younger and newer scouts.
Overview
The Instructor leads skill sessions at troop meetings — first aid, knots, navigation, camping skills, and more. This is a teaching role, and it develops communication and patience as much as Scouting knowledge.
Responsibilities
- 1Plan and lead skill instruction sessions at troop meetings
- 2Teach rank advancement skills to newer scouts
- 3Coordinate with the SPL on what skills to cover
- 4Help run skill stations at campouts
- 5Assist Patrol Leaders with skill sign-offs when authorized
Time Commitment
2–3 hours/week including prep time
