Serves a Cub Scout den as a youth mentor and role model.
Overview
The Den Chief works with a Cub Scout den as a youth assistant to the den leader. They are often the first older Scout a Cub Scout gets to know — and the reason that Cub Scout eventually joins a troop. It's a pipeline role with real impact.
Responsibilities
- 1Attend den meetings and assist the den leader
- 2Lead activities and games for Cub Scouts
- 3Serve as a positive role model for younger scouts
- 4Help Cub Scouts with requirements when appropriate
- 5Build excitement about crossing over to a Scout BSA troop
Time Commitment
2–4 hours/month (den meeting schedule varies)
