The Trail Someone Else Maintains

Every trail we hike was built and is maintained by people we'll never meet — volunteers, rangers, conservation crews — clearing fallen trees and rebuilding washed-out sections so the rest of us can enjoy it. We benefit constantly from work other people did that we didn't see and can't repay directly. The least we can do is leave it exactly as good as we found it, or better.
