The Same Oath, a Different Decade
Any MeetingCourt of Honor
The Scout Oath you said tonight is almost word for word what scouts have said for over a hundred years. Your grandparents' generation said it. Some of their grandparents said it. You're not just reciting words — you're joining something a lot bigger and older than this troop, this meeting, even this organization. When you say that oath, you're standing in a very long line of people who tried to live up to the same words. That's worth taking seriously.
