Patrol Leader (PL)
The leader of a patrol — the backbone of the troop.
Overview
The Patrol Leader runs their patrol. Full stop. They plan patrol meetings, represent their scouts at PLC, and are responsible for the morale and advancement of every scout in their patrol. This is where most real Scout leadership happens.
Responsibilities
- 1Lead patrol meetings and campout activities
- 2Represent the patrol at PLC meetings
- 3Ensure every patrol member is advancing
- 4Assign patrol duties (cook, quartermaster, etc.)
- 5Communicate event info to patrol families
- 6Maintain patrol spirit and culture
Time Commitment
2–3 hours/week plus PLC meetings
