Assistant Patrol Leader (APL)
The Patrol Leader's right hand — and the patrol's backup leader.
Overview
The APL supports the Patrol Leader and steps up when the PL is absent. This is often a newer or developing leader learning the ropes of leading a small team.
Responsibilities
- 1Support the Patrol Leader in all patrol activities
- 2Lead the patrol when the PL is unavailable
- 3Help keep patrol records and attendance
- 4Encourage newer scouts in the patrol
