Tips for Earning This Badge
- 1Read the pamphlet carefully. The discussions are personal and reflective — there are no wrong answers as long as you have thought things through honestly.
- 2This badge works well at a merit badge college where discussions happen in a group setting.
- 3The self-reflection writing requirement is shorter than scouts expect — focus on specific examples from your own experience.
- 4Counselors are trained to keep these conversations low-pressure — the goal is genuine reflection, not a "correct" answer.
- 5A common pitfall: giving generic answers instead of personal ones. "I would treat everyone fairly" is weaker than a specific story about a time you did.
