Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL)
Second in command of the troop — and the SPL's training ground.
Overview
The ASPL supports the SPL and steps in when the SPL is absent. This role is often held by a scout who is developing toward SPL, making it one of the best growth positions in the troop.
Responsibilities
- 1Support the SPL in all troop functions
- 2Run meetings and activities when the SPL is absent
- 3Help coordinate junior leader assignments
- 4Assist with PLC preparation and follow-through
- 5Mentor newer scouts and junior leaders
Time Commitment
2–4 hours/week
